Sun Safety for Kids

As you're getting out into the sunshine, here are some basics to protect your little ones sensitive skin this summer!

1. COVER UP - children less than 1 year of age should be covered up from the sun in long sleeves and pants, and a sun hat of course. Children under 6 months of age should not wear sunscreen - they are very sensitive to absorbing anything at this age.

2. AVOID the sun during the peak hours of 11am-4pm.

3. SLAP on a wide brimmed sun hat - something that will cover their ears and back of neck.

4. SLOP on a safe sunscreen (look for natural options from the health food store, or buy online)! Apply it 20 minutes before sun exposure and every 2 hrs during the day (more frequently if your child is swimming or sweating).

For after-sun care, try our Olive Baby Body Butter to soothe their delicate skin from wind, heat and sun...a natural and gentle approach!
